Four-day tournament sees a record turnout with 327 matches taking place and 1,503 goals scored

With the fifth International FCBEscola Tournament coming to an end on Thursday after four hugely successful days, the numbers that it produced are worth highlighting.

Across the 327 matches played, there was a total of 1,503 goals scored with an average of 4.6 strikes per game.

The latest edition of the tournament also saw a record turnout in terms of participation with 1,215 children from 19 different countries, composed of 107 teams from 26 FCBEscolas around the world.

Stats by category

In the Initiation category, there were 16 teams with 187 players. In total, they played 48 matches and conjured up 244 goals, averaging 5.08 per game. The winning team of this age group was FCBEscola Blaugrana.

The Preformation category had the highest number of participants with 373 players across 32 teams. Between them, they managed 490 goals in 96 games as Sao Paulo came away with the trophy.

In the 96 matches that took place in the Formation category – comprised of 32 teams and 366 players – 434 strikes hit the back of the net with an average of 4.52 per match. FCBEscola USA Blue came away victorious from their division.

Finally, the Precompetition category, with 27 teams and 289 players scored 335 goals in 87 games with an average of 3.85 per match, as FCBEscola BLAU earned the title.
